Written by pelister. Posted in Plugins

Qrcode plugin for Yourls an open source url shortener. This plugin will add the functionality of displaying QRCode for every short url generated. Works with multi user setup and has the following features.

  • QRCode is generated for every new short url
  • New QRCode is generated when the user edits the short url
  • QRCode is deleted when the user deletes an url.
  • Displays QRCode within the sharebox, whenever the sharebox is displayed.
  • QRCodes generated at 165 x 165 pixels.
  • Generated from standalone php QRCode library from Sourceforge.net.
  • QRCode generation for the shorturls generated before plugin installation. (visit stats page of the shorturl that does not have QRCode)

Now you can run your own url shortening service with QRCode generation. Just download and install the plugin and activate from the admin interface. from there every shorturl generated will get QR Codes.

    Great plugin!

We wanted the full 330×330 sized codes (size 10) so I went into plugin.php and changed the 3 instances of `’H’, 5, 2` to `’H’, 10, 2`. It might be nice to build out some of those options into a config file.

Hi, with v 1.7 of YOURLS, we’re getting only a broken icon instead of an image file. Do we need to create a cache folder or other ?

    Thank for your work!
Works fine with 1.7, but existing url must be manually edited to have a qrcode’s file created.
In user/plugins/inline-qrcode/phpqrcode/ , directories bindings, cache, tools and file index.php can be deleted as they are not used.

You need to do the following:

      create folder user/plugins/inline-qrcode/images

set the file permissions for directory
      /images
      /phpqrcode
(chown) to the php-user, recursive (all files)

Love the QR generator for YOURLS. Any advice on how to have the QR code show after generating on a public page like your demo? I’m kinda stuck as I can only get the QR code to generate from the /admin panel.

You need to modify the index.php, you will get qrcode on main page with my plugin. You send me your index.php, I will do the necessary modifications and send back to you.

Am running v1.7. What modifications are required to index.php and which index.php file requires the modifications?

        Cheers!
